June 2018

Go Doc Go had a successful trip to Senegal from May 30th to June 3rd, and met with medical professionals at the Saint-Louis Hospital. Go Doc Go trained physicians, nurses and midwives on how to use a Loop Electrical Excision Procedure (LEEP) to treat precancerous lesions and prevent cervical cancer from ever developing. Go Doc Go also donated a new LEEP to Saint-Louis Hospital for continued treatments.

Photographer Des Magness volunteered on this trip and took some amazing photos that truly capture the beauty and heart of Senegal.

Another highlight of our trip to Senegal was hiring the wonderful Omar Balde, who after having worked for several NGOs in Senegal, has joined Go Doc Go as our new In-Country Program Director. Omar will be helping track the number of women screened at clinics in Senegal as well as helping to set up new opportunities for Go Doc Go.
