Gondar, Ethiopia, June 2016

Dr. Kristen Austin returned to Gondar, Ethiopia last month and was pleased to see that the cervical cancer screening program continues to be an integral part of the Ob/Gyn residency program at the University. The outpatient clinics have moved to a new hospital, and now there is a dedicated room to perform VIA and cryotherapy.

Go Doc Go supplied much needed VIA, cryotherapy, and LEEP equipment during the visit. A representative from the ministry of health in Ethiopia remarked that the program is “a model program” for the rest of Ethiopia. The Ob/Gyn residents and senior staff thank Go Doc Go for their continued support, without whom the cervical cancer screening program would likely falter.
